This is a fictional, storybook roleplay using our favorite celebrities as inspiration for slash-based plotlines and relationships. In no way are the MODs or the members/journals connected to these people, nor do we impersonate these individuals outside of this game. Our community is a safe place, and while it does deal with sexual themes at times it is for mature individuals only. Everyone involved in this game is of age and aware of what they are getting into. In no way do any plotlines involve such subjects as incest, child abuse, or anything so damaging. Furthermore, people just write what they want. Rock on with your bad self, freedom of speech. Keep our fluffy fun in-tact. Thank you.

» R U L E S

Eins. Read and understand every rule before you apply. The application includes a sample RP, where you should write a few lines of storybook so we can "Ooh" and "Ahh" about how awesome you are. Please write something more than three sentences long. Give us something with substance, that shows a bit of depth. Show us your best. Note: We want ACTUAL WRITERS, who are willing to put a little effort into it. No, we're not writing Poe or Shakespeare, but come on. Seriously. Spell check, capitalization, lack of netspeak. Please. Do not apply unless you plan to be active and are willing to do the work to get involved in the game. If you would like to hold a character, you may comment on either post you see on the main community. Holds will last no longer than 48 hours.

Zwei. Your character must have a LiveJournal and an AIM screen name in order to join. It helps if it has something to do with your boy or his band. The journal must be for this community only. Also, getting sued is never fun, so put a disclaimer in your userinfo. All entries must be friends only. This includes anything posted in the sub-communities. This is not optional. LJ is apparently cracking down on RP-related fun. Disclaimers are a must! Please make it visible and obvious that you are an impersonator and mean no harm.

Drei. This is a slash roleplaying community. We welcome any type of boy, man, manboy, what have you, as long as they're into the cock. (Quick note: The rules are written this way because overall, players enjoy writing romantic relationships. But of course, that is only one of the many fun things to write! So if your character is a straight dude, that's totally cool with us! Just know that this is a boys only environment. If you're cool with that, then we're cool in general.) Also, your character does not necessarily have to be from a band, we welcome everyone: actors, models, cute merch boys, whoever. Be sure to check the Taken Character list (located below) before applying as well. OMC's are now accepted but their PB must not be famous in any way, and they must also somehow be connected to at least one pre-existing character in the RP. Examples: one of Gabe's brothers/cousins or a an actor who was in a play with Christian Bale or a merch/tech person for Fall Out Boy are all good options. Be creative.

Vier. We're not AU. But bitches need a place to live/interact. And that place is CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. That being said, you choose whatever for your character. If you have a plotline that'd be fucked with if your boy went on his RL scheduled tour, shit, don't make him go! (Questions about this may be directed to a MOD.) This is entertainment, not complete realism. Characterization should be as realistic as possible, but the character is still yours to interpret. Also, characters can change/grow from their storylines since this is meant to be a long term RP. Just remember we're here for fun, but the more imagination, the better!

Funf. Stuff that's allowed: Everything within good taste and artistic reason, minus incest and killing. HOWEVER. Do Not. Be. Ridiculous. Have some imagination and fluctuate. You can't make Patrick Stump into a pill-popping psychotic hothead who starts drama and tries to kill himself every-other day, while self-depricating to the point where the player opposite you is wanting to kill themselves. Three words: EMO IS BORING. We're over it. If you're gonna make your character that way, no one will want to play with you. And again: characterization. Boys are boys and men are men, even the megaultrasuperherogays. Right? We don't need grown men acting like 14 year old girls. That's the way it is.

Funf AGAIN. DID WE MENTION THAT EMO IS BORING AND WE FUCKING HATE IT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE EVER???? Don't do it. Don't be that guy. You will be asked to stop, or leave, or to get laid or something. For real real. This is a PRETENDY FUNTIME GAME and its soul purpose is PRETENDY FUN TIMES. Oh, and it's a GAME. We're not the Black Parade, okay, we can't save your life. This is not therapy for your problems. Your actual therapy should be for that. It's ridiculous to lay your OOC crap on the table and leave somebody across the country totally helpless to aid you. It's not any member's fault that your life isn't going how you planned, so don't let it bleed into your character and do NOT use it as an excuse to harass anyone OOC. Making friends and whatever is one thing, fine. Then you can talk real life etc. in your personal journals/anywhere that isn't in the context of Hollaback Boys RPG. Don't be a killjoy. If ever you're in doubt, just ask yourself Y SO SRS?

Sechs. Here at Hollaback Boys RPG, we roleplay storybook, and only storybook. If you're not a storybook RPer, there are other communities for you. Give your fellow RPer respect, and don't ignore things they say. If you're not down with that, this isn't the place for you. Move on. All chats, unless they are just regular AIM ones, used for parties/get-togethers will also be done in storybook. We're looking for fun, imaginative and mature writers; and we will not settle for anything less.

Sieben. NO GOD-MODDING. EVER. THE END. Only you can make decisions about your own character(s), no more, no less. This DOES include little things. Pay attention to what the other player writes. It's insulting and a waste of their time if you do not, and furthermore it's annoying. Not impressed with the way a character reacted to something? Tough. Figure it out. It's improv. If you have an issue concerning this and another player, talk to a MOD immediately. Also, be polite. People have lives. Don't poke the other player after five minutes. Furthermore, don't IM someone and expect them to do all the work for you. IM people with ideas, and start them. Or brainstorm. Be creative. That's why we're here. Finally, don't be afraid to comment/IM people. Social butterflies are the prettiest butterflies! Let's face it, most of these people already know each other. If you're clueless as to who knows who and why, that's okay, because everyone understands that you have a life and might lack oodles of free time to stalk your boo's every move. However, as previously stated, this is NOT an AU community. If you don't know something, or someone, either FAKE IT until you figure it out or ASK OOC. It's pretty much a fact that if you don't play your character realistically, no one will want to play with you. Don't annoy. Play.

Acht. You must update your journal at least once every two weeks, and it has to be more than "ZOMG LOOK AT THIS YOUTUBE VIDEO OF WILL FERRELL AND HIS BABY LANDLORD". It just shows us that you're active. If you're not, then there's no reason for you to stick around and hog a character, you know? The character limit for one player at the moment is three. If you play someone here already and want another character, tell a MOD. Go ahead and play the Secret Character Game (TM) if you want, but we're not idiots. If you want to be ~*~mysterious~*~ then go to detective school or something. No need to re-apply. Similarly, if you used to be in the game but left for some reason or other, you probably won't have to apply again. Contact a MOD first. If you are new to the game, you must be active with your character for 2 weeks before you can pick up another. 3rd characters will happen if you are really able to handle it, yo.

Neun. If there is any point where you feel uncomfortable with how an RP is going, say so. No one should ever be forced to write something they aren't comfortable with. On the other hand, if you want to write something controversial, make sure you discuss it with the other player first. Work it out, yo. By all means, write what you want. Don't limit yourself. But if someone asks "Don't go there", you shouldn't. Serious issues are serious for a reason. People are sensitive. Use common sense and empathy, please. If a player wants to speak in a civil manner about an RP problem, humor them and do not get defensive. Any questions or discrepancies over this should be taken directly to a MOD. Let's be mature.

Zehn. MPREG/Adoption are allowed, but not on a mass scale. We want to believe that you're not one of those people who wants to RP baby after baby after baby, and have 10,000 kids you forget about and never incorporate into your writing but the fact is, we don't. Not to go all Pro-Life on you, but it's another human life. AKA, it's special, and should be treated as such. Application for babies can be found: here. They will be approved solely at the MOD's discretion.

Elf. Oh, the OOC drama. It's pretty much for losers and those with incredibly boring lives. That's really all that needs to be said. If you start shit, you're banned. And you're not welcome back. No exceptions. This includes harrassing other players, talking back to a MOD, bashing a player to another player, starting rumors, being genuinely mean, judgmental or ageist, etc. etc. Must I list it all? No. Be nice. Also? We have the power to remove you if you annoy us, so don't. We're serious about this. We don't take bullshit lightly. If you're an asshole looking for a place to spread your God complex like a unicorn's mayonaise move on and do not apply. Don't make a fun hobby into hatorade. There's enough in this world already.

Zwolf. You must be badass. A B.A.M.F. And you must be secure with it. Also, this is kind of a "duh" but please use some form of bracket to distinguish OOC/IC conversation. (()), [], {}, // or you know, we don't really care. But italics don't work because people can't see that via Sidekicks (TM).

Dreizehn. Any questions/concerns can and should be directed to either KT (the American), D (the Brit) or Noelle (the Canadian) as soon as they arise. There is also an HBB FAQ page where your question might be answered! Also, we're open to any suggestions you have, and are willing to work out any problems whatsoever. We're here for you. We're your BFFs. But don't piss us off. Seriously. We are fair, objective, and mature; and we ask the exact same of our players. That being said, you are now free to apply. Please put "Sniffing model glue again" in your application so we know you read the rules. If it isn't there, you will be denied. Also, know that by putting "Sniffing model glue again" in the app, it's like your signature on a contract. We now own your soul, and assume you're happy with every rule. Because why would you join a community that didn't appeal to you? DON'T DRINK OUR KOOL-AID UNLESS YOU TRUST IT TO BE ONLY KOOL-AID. Now go. Frolick and play!
